First off, I'd just like to re-assure you that this is by no means an attempt to convert you or preach my views and opinions on anyone. In January 2020, I took the life changing decision to embrace Veganism which has become a very large and important part of my life. This post is an attempt to explain why I have made the decision, and to raise awareness for the life style.

In January 2020, while aimlessly scrolling through the TV guide wondering what to watch, I stumbled upon a documentary called Apocalypse Cow.

"In a provocative documentary, environmental campaigner George Monbiot argues that the biggest problem driving us towards global disaster is how we feed ourselves, particularly on meat."

I think that if you're remotely interested, you should go away and watch it. If you're not, then don't. For me, the documentary was a massive eye opener, and it changed my mindset completely overnight. Since then, I have completely cut out meat, fish and dairy from my diet. I only eat plant based foods, and I am extremely impressed with the range of products now available to support a Vegan lifestyle.

For anyone a little more interested in what Vegans eat, I have an Instagram account where I upload pictures of what I eat to show the diversity of a Vegan diet. Feel free to view and follow it here https://www.instagram.com/a_vegan_eats_/

Again, I'm not trying to convert anyone in this article. However, I have to say that I look and feel much healthier since making the change. This then took me down another path to researching the health benefits of going Vegan, which pointed me towards another documentary. This is a slightly older one, What the Health, which explains how humans have evolved to be able to eat meat but it really isn't a diet sustainable for our bodies. "This film examines the link between diet and disease, and the billions of dollars at stake in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and food industries." Watch the documentary if it interests you, it is another eye opening watch.

All I want to do in this is explain why I made the change, and express how the change has made me feel. The more research that you find, the more obvious a move it seems. There are lots of big names in the Vegan movement including Joaquin Phoenix, Woody Harrelson, Paul McCartney, Peter Dinklage, James Cameron, Miley Cyrus, Lewis Hamilton, Will.I.Am, Jerome Flynn, Ariana Grande, Sia, and Benedict Cumberbatch to name a few... https://www.livekindly.co/vegan-celebrities/
